Who This Course Is For
What You'll Learn
- How LLM-based coding agents plan, execute, and self-correct across multi-step tasks — not just single-shot completions
- Real workflows with today's agentic coding tools, beyond the demo-level tour
- Tool use and orchestration patterns: what an agent needs to reliably read, write, run, and test code
- Building a full end-to-end agentic application on your own, using SDD
- Debugging and evaluating agent behavior — where these systems fail, and how to catch it
Tools You'll Use
Curriculum
- Week 1 Sept 5–6
What is Agentic AI? Levels of autonomy of AI agents — augmented LLM calls, agentic workflows, single & multi-agent systems, fully autonomous agents.
- Week 2 Sept 12–13
Agentic coding harness & specification-driven development — writing high-quality specs, vibe coding vs. SDD, writing correct tests.
- Week 3 Sept 19–20
Building an end-to-end full-stack web application with agentic coding — front end & back end specs. Self-project begins.
- Week 4 Sept 26–27
Writing full unit tests, CI/CD and cloud deployment of the application built in Week 3.
- Week 5 Oct 3–4
Principled evaluation of the agentic coding lifecycle — the AI-driven software development lifecycle.
- Week 6 Oct 10–11
High-level system design for new software applications. Final project presentations.

Is the course online or offline?
Fully online, conducted live on Zoom. You don't need a Zoom account — just browser access. Live sessions run Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30am–12pm.
What happens after I enroll?
You'll be added to the course's communication channels (Discord and the learning management system), and receive reading material and setup instructions by the first week of August. Enrolling early gives you more time to prepare before the course starts.
What if I miss a live session?
Sessions are recorded and shared with all enrolled participants, so you won't fall behind.
What if I have doubts?
The course Discord channels are your first and fastest source for getting doubts clarified. The instructor also holds bookable 1-on-1 or many-on-1 office hour sessions for structured discussions throughout the program.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes — participants who complete the course and final project receive a certificate of completion from IISc's Centre for Continuing Education.
What hardware or subscriptions do I need?
A laptop with at least 8GB RAM, a stable internet connection, a GitHub account, an AI coding assistant subscription, and a free-tier cloud account. See “What You'll Need” above for details.
How experienced is the instructor at teaching online cohorts?
Prof. Deepak Subramani has trained 3,000+ working professionals and students through online programs under IISc's Centre for Continuing Education, across 15+ live cohort-based classes. He has an active research program in AI Education, with top-tier publications in Computers & Education — the highest-ranked journal in the field.
